Christmas Jokes

Christmas Jokes

Why is it always cold at Christmas?
Because it's in Decemberrrrrrr!

I illustrated some Christmas jokes for my dad.  I'm not an artist so I followed some 'how to draw' books/videos.  The above snowflakes are my best effort, I really like them.  A friend has started making videos about her bullet journal and I got these snowflakes from her-check it out here!

Cruise Halifax to Boston 2017

Cruise Montreal to Boston 2017

We were supposed to spend a day in Sydney, but the weather was too rough so we hung out at sea.  Another day for the pool and general hanging around.

Halifax!

The cruise terminal is pretty great, probably because Halifax was home to Samuel Cunard, founder of the shipping line and an important port.

At the port you can check out the Immigration museum.  Very well done!  I thought we would fly through it in an hour but instead a couple hours later we wished we had more time.  There are personal stories from every age-well curated.  Take the test to see how well you know Canada's history-not well enough!  Try the interactive exhibits, like, pretend you have to immigrate and here is your tiny suitcase, what will you bring and what will you leave behind-yikes!

Love the bike rack that looks like a bike frame.

Great public art for a board walk.

Want a small boat ride for your small child?  This super cute tug boat is the way to go.

Ferries come and go regularly.

More fun public art.

Up close

Far away.  Most of the boardwalk is shops selling stuff or ice cream.  Tons of buskers and restaurants, pretty much what you expect on vacation.

Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine

Always up for visiting a National park.  Not sure I would have ever gotten here by plane but boat was straightforward.  Good looking beach!

Since we arrived by boat we have no rental car.  Turns out that is a fine thing because the parking lots are crowded and renting an electric bike is totally the way to go.  Some exercise but not enough to wear you out, easy peasy parking and the right speed to be on vacation.

One of the historic horse carriage roads-not awesome for bikes and a bit more crowded so we skipped them and zipped around on the well-paved roads.

Stop at Jordan Pond House Restaurant for a spectacular view and great people watching.

Last sunset at sea.

Boston-big fun!  We did something clever and used water taxies/shuttles to get around Boston.  There is one that will store your luggage while you check out the historic downtown and then bring you to the airport.  We got to eat in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, play on the Greenway Carousel, watch the buskers and hang out around the water.  A good time was had by all!!
