Hakone Gardens, January 2020, part II

Hakone Gardens, January 2020, part II

The waterfall is a central feature of the park.  The placement is just perfect.

I'm always interested in patterns.  I found this interesting because it doesn't have a clean edge but rather blends into the other material.

This is not important enough to have information, but thought it was a lovely deer.

Since it was January, hardly anything was in bloom, just a few camellias were out.

They were all the more spectacular for being the only ones.

Without the leaves the structure of the trees really stand out.

Tiny pinecone about the size of a thumb.

The tree with the most spectacular green.

This flower is just a bit ahead of the rest of the bush.

Whatever these plants are have all been trimmed back

and somehow look very grub-like.

The calm day leads to lovely reflections.

Initially we only spotted a few koi

but found them hanging out under the feeding area.

Love the mixed up coloration

Love love love these interesting shapes.

The main gate

Happy New Year!!
Note to self, return for the cherry blossoms!
